EU expands sanctions against Iran for military support to Russia
On Monday, November 18, the European Union Council decided to expand sanctions due to Iran's military support for Russia in its war against Ukraine
The new measures target Iran's role in providing military assistance to Russia, as well as its involvement with armed groups in the Middle East and Red Sea regions.
The expanded sanctions focus on using ships and ports to transfer Iranian-made drones, missiles, and related technologies. The EU has also banned the export, transfer, or sale of components used to develop missiles and UAVs to Iran.
