149 combat clashes occur at Russian-Ukrainian frontline, over 40 in Kurakhove sector

On November 17, 149 combat clashes were recorded on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Russian forces are most actively attacking in the Kurakhove sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported the information as of 08:00 a.m. on November 18.

The situation at the front remains tense. Russia, using its superiority in manpower and equipment, is continuously attacking Ukrainian positions. Ukrainian defenders are steadfastly holding back the Russian onslaught and inflicting maximum losses on the invading forces.

According to the updated information, yesterday the Russian army launched 3 missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and settlements, including one massive missile and air strike - a total of 132 missiles, 85 air strikes, including 141 guided bombs. In addition, it conducted over 4,700 attacks, 111 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems and engaged about 1,699 kamikaze drones.

Russia carried out air strikes near 3 settlements in Sumy region; 7 in Kharkiv region; 13 in Donetsk region.

Over the past day, Ukraine's aviation, missile forces and artillery hit 13 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, one control center, one radar, and one electronic warfare station.

Frontline situation 

In the Kharkiv sector, Russia unsuccessfully stormed the positions of Ukrainian defenders four times near the towns of Vovchansk and Starytsia, actively using bombers.

Ten Russian attacks took place in the Kupyansk sector over the last day. Ukraine's Defense Forces repelled enemy assaults near Kucherivka, Kruhliakivka, Zahryzove, and Kolisnykivka.

The Russian troops attacked in the Lyman sector six times. They tried to break into Ukrainian defenses near Tverdokhlibove, Hrekivka, Novoiehorivka, Terny, and Cherneshchyna.

In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian troops repelled one Russian attack near Verkhniokamianske.

In the Kramatorsk sector, one combat clash took place near Bila Hora over the last day.

Russia actively used bomber aircraft in the Toretsk sector, launching three attacks towards Toretsk and Shcherbynivka. 

In the Pokrovsk sector, Ukrainian defenders stopped 32 Russian assault and offensive actions near Myroliubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Krutyi Yar, Yurivka, Hryhorivka, Pustynka, and Petrivka.

In the Kurakhove sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 42 attacks. Russian troops were most actively trying to advance near Nova Illinka, Berestky, Voznesenka, Sontsivka, Zoria, Maksymilianivka, Dalne, Kurakhove, Katerynivka, Yelyzavetivka, and Antonivka.

In the Vremivka sector, the Russian army launched eight attacks on Ukrainian positions near Trudove, Novodvorivka, Rivnopillia and Rozdolivka, and also launched assault and bombing attacks on the village of Velyka Novosilka.

Russian forces did not conduct any active operations in the Huliaipole sector.

In the Orikhiv sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled one Russian attack near Novoandriivka.

In the Prydniprovskyi sector, Russian troops attempted four times, unsuccessfully, to dislodge Ukrainian Defense Forces units from their positions.

The operation in the Kursk region continues. Russian aviation continues to level villages and towns. Over the past day, Russian aircraft carried out 26 air strikes with 33 anti-aircraft missiles on their own territory.

On the border with Belarus, no signs of Russian offensive groups were detected.

On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, Russia is actively using artillery and aviation in the vicinity of Ukrainian settlements from its territory.

  • Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces eliminated at least 1,560 Russian soldiers and dozens of pieces of equipment at the front.
