Russian equipment's movement on Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station Bridge is practically impossible - mayor
Volodymyr Kovalenko, the mayor of Nova Kakhovka, says that the city has been occupied for 6 months, and that the Russians have accumulated a large number of weapons and troops during this time
He shared the details with Espreso TV.
"Nowadays, attention is often focused on Novaya Kakhovka. On August 13 and 14, one of the districts of the city, where the military bases of the Russian occupiers were located, received up to 12 hits, according to local residents, and then a black column of smoke stood over the city for a very long time. The Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station Bridge is also in the center of attention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and is very seriously damaged, which makes it practically impossible for the enemy's military equipment to move from one bank to the other", the mayor of Nova Kakhovka said.
Volodymyr Kovalenko noted that there are very few people left in the city and the number of people leaving is not decreasing, so there will be even fewer residents in Nova Kakhovka.
"Nova Kakhovka has been occupied for the sixth month, accordingly, the enemy has accumulated a large number of weapons and troops. There are also two significant hydroelectric facilities nearby, the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Station and the North Crimean Canal, so Nova Kakhovka remains the center of attention of the Ukrainian Armed Forces", the mayor explained.
Kovalenko added that he constantly communicates with the citizens who are currently under occupation, and they are waiting for the liberation of Nova Kakhovka.
