Russian elites are now in dead end, but no one wants to get out of there first - Russian opposition leader Ponomarev
Russian oppositionist Ilya Ponomarev believes that there will be no rebellion in the Russian Federation if people do not see who and what will happen after Putin, therefore an alternative government is needed
He said this on Espreso TV.
“I believe that there is no more opposition-minded stratum of society in the Russian Federation than the Russian elite, and especially the Russian government, who understand that they are now in a dead end. They do not see an alternative, but no one wants to be the first. It is more convenient for them to hide behind such an understanding that all decisions about the war are made by one person - Putin. Therefore, they are trying to sit back and wait for everything to end,” the oppositionist explained.
Ilya Ponomarev noted that it is impossible to wait, therefore the partisan movement, which is currently spreading and growing in the Russian Federation, is aimed at making the elites finally understand that the strategy of sitting out does not work either, and one must choose one or the other side.
“There won't be any rebellion if people don't see who and what will happen after Putin, so the main thing is an alternative. We need to form an alternative government, a government that will be supported by the anti-Putin coalition, the collective West. That is, that this alternative is recognized and is a way out, and if they sided with this alternative, they would be guaranteed protection, their lives and property would be spared, then they would start doing something. And our main goal is the Russian elites, who understand that the defeat is already there. And then we need to address ordinary citizens, because the level of dissatisfaction is very high, but they need to see the real power,” Ponomarev noted.
