Evacuation of wounded may take up to two days due to Russian drones - volunteer
Volunteer Oksana Korchynska emphasizes the need to install electronic warfare systems on evacuation vehicles to protect against Russian drones
She said this on Espreso TV.
"Currently, the evacuation of the wounded takes at least 6 hours, and sometimes up to several days. Often, severely injured individuals have little chance of survival. This situation arises because the Russians constantly attack our evacuation transport with drones. That's why today we're talking about installing EW systems on medical vehicles. We understand that we may not be able to implement this option on all fronts, unfortunately. However, most evacuation vehicles should have EW systems installed to jam the signals of enemy drones," Korchynska explained.
The volunteer also emphasized the importance of armored vehicles for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield.
This will allow us to evacuate the wounded during the day. It is extremely important for saving the lives of our servicemen. This is our main problem. Specifically, safe evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield and armored medical vehicles. Currently, we are waiting for the next batch of armored evacuation vehicles," she added.
- On February 19, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov reported that Ukraine has developed a remotely controlled transporter for evacuating wounded soldiers from the battlefield.
