"The war doesn't need those unwilling to fight, recruitment should rely on motivation": Terra air reconnaissance unit commander
Mykola Volokhov, who commands the Terra aerial reconnaissance unit in the 3rd detached assault brigade, discussed the recruitment process and the need to expand recruiting centers in Ukraine
He shared his insights on Espreso TV.
"People usually prefer talking about bad things over good ones. That's why recruiting gets less attention and the word 'mobilization' has a negative connotation. We've designed our recruiting to avoid the negatives associated with mobilization. The main goal is to prepare and explain to individuals why they need this. People who don't want to fight or understand why they're fighting aren't needed at the front," Volokhov explained.
Volokhov emphasized that the priority of recruiting is to prepare and train individuals for combat.
"You can't force someone to fight. There's no benefit to that. To improve this situation, we train people. When someone comes to our recruiting center, they get all the necessary information. We don't issue summonses or force anyone. We prepare and train individuals in basic and essential skills, whether as UAV operators, infantry, or managers," he added.
