U.S. allows weapons supply to Azov Brigade
The administration of the U.S. President Joe Biden has announced the lifting of a ban, imposed several years ago, on the supply of American weapons to the Azov Brigade, as reported by the Washington Post citing the U.S. State Department.
“After thorough review, Ukraine’s 12th Special Forces Azov Brigade passed Leahy vetting as carried out by the U.S. Department of State,” the agency said.
The Leahy Law prevents U.S. military assistance from going to foreign units credibly found to have committed major human rights violations. It is named for former senator Patrick J. Leahy (D-Vt.), who wrote the legislation.

This was announced by Ukraine's Minister of Strategic Industries, Oleksandr Kamyshin.

According to Kamyshin, the launch of the joint workshop will allow foreign equipment to be repaired faster and, therefore, returned to the front line more quickly. In the future, the shop also plans to produce new models of armored vehicles.
The minister emphasized that this will support not only the Ukrainian Armed Forces but also the Ukrainian economy, as Ukrainian specialists will work in the workshop under the technical supervision of their German colleagues. Thus, taxes will be paid in Ukraine.
