Rheinmetall and Ukroboronprom's first joint armored vehicle repair shop opens in Ukraine
A joint production shop of Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall has been launched in Ukraine: it will repair and subsequently produce armored vehicles
This was announced by Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin.
“A joint production facility of Ukroboronprom and Rheinmetall has been launched in Ukraine - a workshop for the repair and production of armored vehicles. This is the first project implemented within the partnership between Ukroboronprom and the German defense giant,” the statement said.
According to Kamyshin, the launch of the joint workshop will allow foreign equipment to be repaired faster and, therefore, returned to the front line more quickly. In the future, the shop also plans to produce new models of armored vehicles.
The minister emphasized that this will support not only the Armed Forces but also the Ukrainian economy, as Ukrainian specialists will work in the shop under the technical supervision of their German colleagues. Thus, taxes will be paid in Ukraine.
“I thank our partners for their faith in Ukrainian defense and for their consistent support,” Kamyshin added.
