US tries to drag Europe into full-scale war in Russia - media fakes and manipulations on June 11
The Centre for Countering Disinformation has published a compilation of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that the world media published on June 11
Espreso TV reported the information.
According to the Centre for Countering Disinformation, world media have published several fake news and manipulations on June 11.
Disinformation: Former US Army combat and staff officer David Pyne said: "The reason I assess that he (Zelenskyy - ed.) is attacking Russian nuclear forces and nuclear command and control centers is because he actually wants Putin to escalate the war to use kind of a demonstration nuclear weapon on Ukrainian territory in the belief that will force the US and NATO to to bomb Russian forces and start Europe-wide conflagration."
Refutation: With such statements, David Pyne is trying to portray the Ukrainian government as a provocateur and escalator of the war with Russia. In fact, the actions of the Ukrainian government and army are aimed at defending the country from Russian aggression.
Manipulation: The Dutch journalist Sonja van den Ende wrote on her X page: "The US is trying at all costs to embroil Europe in a full blown out war in Russia. The supply of Dutch, Belgian and Swedish aircraft (F16) contributes significantly to this. The Western political elite have become insane, dangerously radicalized, why is that?"
Rebuttal: This is part of a Russian propaganda campaign aimed at discrediting and stopping Western military assistance to Ukraine. In fact, Western arms supplies play a key role in Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression, and that is why Russian propaganda is trying to disrupt this assistance.
- On June 9, reports said that Russian propagandists were spreading a fake claiming that sooner or later the Ukrainian Armed Forces' defences would "break down" and the Ukrainian government would risk losing control of a number of major cities, including Kyiv.
