"US-centralized power alliance wanted this war": false narratives in foreign media on September 10
Ukrainian Centre for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations that were published by the world media on September 10
According to the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine, disinformation and manipulation were spread in the world on September 10.
Manipulation: Writer Caitlin Johnstone wrote on her X page: ‘The horrors in Ukraine are happening because the US-centralized power alliance refused easy off-ramp after easy off-ramp. This whole war could've easily been avoided, and it could have easily been ended right after it began. But they kept pushing on, because they wanted this war.’
Refutation: The writer uses the Kremlin's narrative about the West's alleged ‘proxy war with Russia’ and tries to shift the responsibility for the continuation of the fighting to the United States to justify Russia's aggressive actions and absolve it of blame. However, it was the Russian Federation that launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022 and must bear full responsibility for all crimes committed on the territory of Ukraine.
Disinformation: Irish journalist Chay Bowes wrote on his X page: ‘When General Syrsky told the Dictator Zelenskyy, the Russians had been stopped in the East He was lying. He was hoping to convince the "Ramstein" meeting to keep the cash flowing. The Russians haven't been stopped in the East. But the Ukrainians have been in Kursk.’
Refutation: The journalist's accusations are completely unfounded and are aimed at sowing division between Ukraine's military and political leadership in the eyes of the international community. At the same time, Ukraine's allies continue to provide the necessary support based on the real needs of the Ukrainian army.
- On September 3, Russian media launched fake information about the search for armed maniacal prisoners who had signed a contract with the Ukrainian Armed Forces and escaped.
