Ukrainian hackers destroy Russian data center used by military
Ukrainian hackers, likely linked to the Security Service, sabotaged a data center utilized by the Russian military-industrial complex, as well as oil, gas, and telecommunications sectors
This is according to a source from Interfax-Ukraine.
The operation involved the Ukrainian hacking group BLACKJACK and the cyber division of the Security Service of Ukraine. They incapacitated over 300 TB of data stored on 400 virtual and 42 physical servers. These servers contained internal documents, backups, and software used for remote management of production processes, a source stated.
The affected enterprises include Russian entities such as Lukoil, Rosneft, The Ural Works of Civil Aviation (part of the Roselectronika holding), Ural Special Equipment Plant, Gazprom, Transgaz, Norilsk Nickel, Rostelecom, Telecom, and Megafon.
The source emphasized that the OwenCloud.ru cloud service hosted over 10,000 legal entities, including enterprises from the Russian military-industrial, oil and gas, metallurgical, aerospace sectors, and telecommunications giants.
