Ukraine repels over 20 attacks in Bakhmut sector, Russia tries to break through defense 19 times in Novopavlivka sector

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff reported this.

Russian attacks across Ukraine 

In total, Russia launched 2 missile strikes, 61 airstrikes, and 49 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Multi-storey and private houses, as well as other infrastructure facilities, were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline situation 

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk sector, Russia did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian troops repelled four attacks near Terny and Yampolivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army, supported by air power, tried to break through the defense. More than 10 localities suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian troops repelled more than 20 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka and Verkhnokamyanske in the Luhansk region; Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka, Andriivka in the Donetsk region, where the Russian army, with the support of aviation, tried to improve the tactical situation. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled two attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, where the Russians tried to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the Russian troops in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, Novomykhailivka, Velyka Novosilka, and Urozhaine, where the invaders, supported by air, tried to break through the defense 19 times. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Orikhiv sector, Russia, with the support of aviation, made 3 unsuccessful attempts to attack the Ukrainian positions near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia region. About 20 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson sector, Russia does not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. More than 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

Ukrainian strikes against Russian military positions 

The missile troops destroyed 1 Russian military position, 2 artillery systems, 1 radar station, 1 electronic warfare station, and 2 enemy air defense facilities.

• Over the last day, 54 combat engagements took place at the front. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 22 Russian attacks.
