Ukraine needs latest weapons to liberate Russian-occupied territories — Ukrainian General
Army General and former Foreign Intelligence Service Chief Mykola Malomuzh is convinced that Ukraine will have the opportunity to liberate Russian-held areas if its partners provide modern weapons and equipment rather than old ones
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"The only way to prevent a protracted war is to urgently concentrate high-tech weapons for Ukraine. This applies to every NATO country. They should not transfer old equipment and weapons to Ukraine, but rather supply modern weapons. Therefore, today it is important to understand that either our partners provide Ukraine with contemporary weapons and in the required quantity, or NATO's war against Russia will become a reality," Malomuzh explained.
According to Malomuzh, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have a good chance of liberating the territories occupied by Russia if Ukraine receives all the necessary weapons.
"It is worth emphasizing that along with the supply of the necessary weapons, the national defense industry must also scale up. Only under such conditions will we be able to defeat Russia on the battlefield and stop Putin's intentions to wage a protracted war. There are real mechanisms, and they can be implemented. Some foreign media have recently written that Ukraine will not be able to return the territories occupied by Russia. This is a wrong position. There is an alternative. Having all the necessary means, the Ukrainian army can liberate all the occupied territories," he added.
