Shells, soldiers, and F-16s will dramatically reduce flow of bad news
Constant barrage of bad news creates a sense of catastrophe and inevitable defeat for many people
Every day reading the news with the phrase "the enemy has advanced" is like a constant creeping occupation that cannot be stopped.
I don't have any special good news for you. Things are really very difficult, for both objective reasons (Western assistance and the growing strength of Russian forces) and subjective reasons (state and military governance). But I have my analytical conclusion that the situation will inevitably improve for us. Perhaps not in the coming weeks, but definitely in the coming months. Here are my arguments.
1. The weapons are coming. Yes, not in time, yes, not enough. But they are coming, and there will be more of them. Believe me, if you had 0 shells and now you have 10, this is a 10-fold increase. Although this is unlikely to win the war, it is a serious improvement and, accordingly, an increase in the number of Russians killed and equipment burned.
2. Mobilization is happening. Yes, it is wrong, yes, it is often unfair. But when a commander has no one to cover his positions, a brigade has no reserves, and vehicles have no crews, the only consequence is that the enemy has advanced. I did not support this type of mobilization and predicted all the problems it would cause for the economy. But believe me, the frontline does not care where and how people come from. If they don't come from anywhere, the invaders will reach not only Kyiv. You may not like it a hundred times, but this is the reality.
“The arrival of fresh forces will make it possible to more effectively deter the invading Russian troops and perhaps even inflict localized defeats on them. The orcs have made a lot of strategic and operational mistakes that are easy to punish if you have the men and weapons.”
3. F-16s will fly. No, not tomorrow, probably not next week or month. But it will happen by the fall. And this will have a serious impact on the fighting. No, we will not win the war immediately, the Russians will not run away. But if we manage to reduce the use of guided bombs by at least 50%, the enemy's advance will be stopped. And the level of losses will increase even more.
We are all very, very tired. Not only the Armed Forces, although first and foremost. Bad news is exhausting, disheartening. I won't promise you the borders of 1991, but I can promise you that shells, soldiers, and F-16s will dramatically reduce the flow of bad news.
In the end, we have a very simple choice: defend ourselves or Bucha.
