Russian troops conduct small group assaults in Horlivka direction - Ukrainian serviceman Iyevlyev
Ukrainian serviceman Yevhen Iyevlyev reports that Russian troops are using artillery and mortars on the Horlivka front, with assaults by small groups
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"In the Horlivka direction, Russian forces are continuously shelling Ukrainian positions with artillery and mortars. Following this, the occupiers are actively deploying drones. If the enemy observes that one of our positions has been compromised and our soldiers must retreat, they attempt to seize those positions. For instance, in two out of six attacks, they circumvented our positions assuming they had been abandoned by our troops. Consequently, they lost six servicemen," said Iyevlyev.
The serviceman noted that Russian forces are not conducting large-scale assault operations in the Horlivka direction.
"There have been no reports of attacks by occupiers using motorcycles and pickup trucks in our area. We observed such assault tactics in the Avdiivka area during our previous deployment there. In our sector, if assault operations occur, they typically involve small groups," he added.
- On June 24, Ukraine's General Staff reported that over the past day, the occupying Russian army lost at least 1,300 soldiers and dozens of pieces of military equipment in the war in Ukraine.
