The chief sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, former deputy chairman of the Ukrainian parliament, believes that Ukraine is currently facing unfavourable conditions, in particular due to the election campaigns in Europe and the United States

Ruslan Koshulynskyi shared his opinion in an interview with a journalist from Espreso.

"The enemy felt that our partners do not quite keep their word and do not supply ammunition in time," Ruslan Koshulynskyi said. - "Therefore, given their capabilities, the Russians are trying to advance as much as possible and capture new territories or take the same positions that the Ukrainian army had previously retaken. And then, when, God forbid, the government changes or there are other political scenarios in the world, the Russians will demand to sit down at the negotiating table. Now the conditions are unfavorable for us, because election campaigns have begun in Europe and the United States. They do not bring stability that would be effective for us. That is, we know that every month we should have received some military assistance that we need, but now we don't have it. And the enemy will use this to their advantage.

According to Ruslan Koshulynskyi, Ukraine needs to look for a fair mechanism within the country. Where the military would not feel stupid for going to war.

"I would advise our authorities to think about the situation inside the country. How to make a mechanism of a common large family of an ideological, fair nature, where the military would not feel 'stupid for fighting' and those who flee abroad would feel 'smart and right'. That is, we need a mechanism of social justice. Yes, it will be a difficult year, war is a long distance, and the winner is the one who is more resilient, who has more desire to win, who has more money, weapons, and allies.  The ideological aspect, motivation, is the main thing. The Russians have found material motivation, they pay a lot of money. And we have a lot of fatigue, civilians and military are tired of the war. Therefore, a sense of justice is also important today. Isn't it possible to punish those who fled? Of course, it is possible. These are criminal proceedings, all of them can be found at once, and they can be submitted to Interpol. Because it is a constitutional duty to defend your homeland."

  • Ruslan Koshulynskyi noted that during the ten years of war, it would have been possible to establish the production of Ukrainian weapons.
