At 8:28 a.m., MiG-31K missiles posed a threat across Ukraine, with targets identified in Starokostiantyniv and Kyiv.

Explosions were reported in Kyiv at 8:30 a.m., according to Espreso, and by 8:33 a.m., Suspilne confirmed explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region.

Air defense work in Kyiv

At about 11:25 p.m., explosions were heard in Kyiv, Espreso reports.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, said that air defense forces were working over the capital.

In the morning, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that drones were coming at Kyiv in waves and from different directions.

“Air defense forces and means detected about a dozen Russian drones in the airspace around Kyiv. All Russian UAVs that threatened the capital were neutralized. There was no information on damage or casualties,” the statement said.

After the MiG attack, Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko wrote: “According to preliminary information, a missile fragment fell in the Solomianskyi district of the city." The Kyiv City Military Administration added that, preliminarily, there were no casualties or damage.

The Kyiv City Military Administration added that debris was also recorded falling in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital.

The Kyiv City Military Administration provided updates on the missile attack on Kyiv, where Russian forces launched Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missiles from MiG-31K carriers. Air defense systems in the capital were active, and preliminary reports indicated that all air targets were successfully destroyed.

Debris from the missiles was recorded falling in the Holosiivskyi and Solomianskyi districts. As of 9 a.m., there were no reports of damage or casualties, though information was still being clarified.

Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed missile debris fell in several areas, including open spaces in the Solomianskyi district, near a pedestrian crossing in Shevchenkivskyi, and in Holosiivskyi, where shrapnel struck a sidewalk and damaged the roof of a police minibus.

Further details from the Kyiv City Military Administration revealed that in the Solomianskyi district, shrapnel damaged the roof of a residential building, landed on school grounds, and mostly fell in open spaces. In Holosiivskyi, shrapnel damaged a car roof, and debris fell in open areas. In Shevchenkivskyi, missile fragments were also found in open spaces.

Klitschko later reported that a fire in Solomianskyi, caused by falling debris, had been extinguished. Missile fragments were discovered near an apartment building entrance, a private house yard, and near a supermarket. Additionally, three missile fragments were found on a kindergarten's grounds in Solomianskyi.

At 10:06 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration noted that a UAV had been spotted, with air defense forces responding.
