Russia attacks Ukraine with Shaheds, guided bombs: 12 injured in Kharkiv after high-rise strike

Strike on Kyiv
At 0:31 a.m., the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that air defense systems were operating in the city.
“As a result of falling debris in the Desnianskyi district of the city, a multi-storey building was preliminarily damaged. There was no fire. Information about the victims is being clarified,” they said.
Later, the city military administration clarified the information: the wreckage fell near a residential building.
“There is no visible damage to the building and no fire. There was no information on injuries,” the statement said.
At 2:38 a.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported that air defense was operating in the region.
In the morning, the Kyiv City Military Administration informed that the alert in Kyiv lasted more than 5.5 hours. During this time, the air defense forces detected and shot down about a dozen attack drones in the airspace around and above Kyiv.
“According to the operational report, as a result of a Russian drone attack, debris fell in the Desnianskyi district of Kyiv. However, the consequences were minimal - there was no destruction, no fire, and no information about the victims was received,” the statement said.
Aftermath in Odesa region
Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said that one of the Shaheds fell on the territory of a cemetery in Berezivskyi district without a subsequent fire.
Another drone caused damage to power lines when it fell. As of now, 2,000 consumers in the Berezovsky district have no power supply.
“Our power engineers have been working non-stop since the night before and have already supplied power to more than 3,000 customers. They will continue to work until every home has electricity,” said Kiper.
Explosions and air defense operations
At 11:10 p.m., the Kyiv Regional Military Administration reported: “A UAV was spotted in the airspace. Air defense forces are working on targets”.
At 1:36 a.m., Suspilne reported the sound of explosions in Khmelnytskyi, at 2:20 a.m. in Kyiv, and later in Ivano-Frankivsk.
Svitlana Onyshchuk, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration, said that during the air raid the region was under Russian attack.
“Another restless night in the Carpathian region. During an air raid alert, the region came under Russian attack. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” the statement said.
Filip Pronin, head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, said that drone fragments damaged six commercial buildings in Lubny district.
In Kremenchuk district, shrapnel damaged the roof of an outbuilding and the glass in a residential building and a kindergarten.
Attack on Kharkiv
At 10:58 p.m., Mayor Terekhov reported a guided bomb attack on Kharkiv, targeting Shevchenkivskyi and Kyivskyi districts. The Regional Military Administration confirmed damage to civilian infrastructure, with a residential high-rise hit. Seven people were initially reported injured, with a fire igniting at the strike site, affecting nearby cars.
The bomb struck a five-story building between the third and fourth floors, causing at least 10 cars to catch fire. By 11:54 p.m., the number of victims had increased to nine, including a three-year-old girl, all in moderate to light condition. The following report at 00:09 a.m. raised the number of casualties to ten.
Authorities organized the evacuation of residents from the affected building and nearby homes, while the Regional Military Administration warned that there may be people trapped under the rubble.
The regional prosecutor's office confirmed that at around 11:00 p.m., Russian forces launched five guided aerial bombs from the village of Stroitel in Russia's Belgorod region using two Su-34 aircraft. Preliminary data indicated these were D-30SN UMPBs.
Two of the Russian-guided bombs hit the suburbs of Kharkiv, in the Derhachi community, while three more struck Kharkiv itself. In Shevchenkivskyi district, two bombs hit an open area. In the Saltiv district, a guided bomb hit a five-story residential building, injuring ten people, including a three-year-old child.
By 00:30 a.m., rescuers had extinguished a 65-square-meter fire in the damaged residential building. The State Emergency Service reported that emergency and rescue operations were ongoing.
At around 5:30 a.m., Mayor Terekhov reported hearing explosions again, later clarifying that they occurred in the nearby suburbs. He warned of the potential for further strikes. The strike on the suburbs also damaged high-voltage transmission lines, causing power outages in some areas.
By morning, the Regional Military Administration reported an increase in casualties to 12, with five hospitalized in moderate to light condition, and one three-year-old girl being treated on an outpatient basis.
