Refinery explosions prompt massive Russian attacks on Ukraine: Energy expert Ryabtsev shares insights
Energy expert Hennadiy Ryabtsev interprets the recent series of Russian missile attacks on Ukraine as their response to the destruction of Russian oil refineries
He shared his views during an interview on Espreso TV channel.
"In my view, these extensive missile strikes on Ukrainian territory represent Russia's frantic response to the destruction of their refineries. They seem to be indiscriminately launching whatever arsenal they've amassed in recent months at Ukraine, regardless of specific targets. The primary aim appears to be demonstrating a retaliatory stance. If these attacks were indeed aimed at critical infrastructure, we would have seen all three recent strikes targeting such sites," explained Ryabtsev.
The expert acknowledged uncertainty regarding the precise objectives behind the enemy's recent attacks on Ukraine.
"It appears that rather than targeting specific objectives, the attacks were conducted based on a list of various targets. As of now, the goal of these assaults remains unclear," he added.
- On the evening of Saturday, March 23, Russian forces deployed attack UAVs and cruise missiles against Ukraine. The strikes resulted in shrapnel damage in the Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, with a critical infrastructure facility being targeted in the Lviv region.
