"Rabid dogs are shot, there is no other recipe": diplomat Bezsmertnyi on possible talks with Russia
Ukrainian diplomat Roman Bezsmertnyi believes that Russia will never fulfill the terms of any negotiations and will treat them as they want
He expressed this opinion on Espreso TV.
"You have to keep in mind, I'm telling you as a person who has sat with them dozens, maybe hundreds of times, at the negotiating table, they treat international law, everything that is necessary, from electoral legislation to nuclear non-proliferation treaties, the way they want, not the way it is written. That's why they will look for options like Nebenzya's claim at the Security Council that the Ukrainians themselves bombed Okhmatdyt. Imagine coming out and speaking in a room where there are respected people, members of the UN Security Council, international representation. He comes out and says that Ukrainians bombed themselves, that they shot themselves in Bucha, etc. This is their philosophy.
That's why, in general, when I take on such things, it seems to me that in this respect it is better to say what we should do than to explain what it does. This is a vile, wild creature. Rabid dogs are shot, there is no other recipe and there cannot be. The diagnosis is clear, the recipe for eliminating this disease is also clear. Why is there no action? Because there are those who write open letters that are published in The Guardian and not only about the need to negotiate. Who should we negotiate with?" said Bezsmertnyi.
The diplomat noted that the Russians will always interpret any agreements in a way that suits them and is beneficial to them
"How many times have I explained to the Americans not to sit down with them at the table in general. Because everything you sign is binding on you, but means absolutely nothing to them. So that's the situation. Therefore, the Russian dictator was not and is not going to comply with international law. We must all remember that everything he does, all his decisions, have absolutely no legal force. Everyone in the world understands this. This is what we need to rely on and be guided by. We need to achieve the fastest possible unification of forces and implementation of the recipe in order to "cure" the disease of this ethnic group, this state, and this Fuhrer," he added.
