Russian soldiers with the 155th Separate Marine Brigade claim to have beheaded a Ukrainian soldier. The Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation.

The Prosecutor General's Office reports.

“Under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the violation of the laws and customs of war combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the statement says.

On August 16, a video was posted on social media showing Russian soldiers demonstrating the head of an alleged Ukrainian soldier, which was impaled on a stake.

“The dissemination of such a video by representatives of the Russian Federation once again shows their complete disregard for the norms and principles of international humanitarian law,” the prosecutor's office stated.

The case was first reported by DeepState analysts. Russian marines recorded a video showing a Ukrainian soldier's severed head.

According to DeepState, the terrorists committed the crime in Kolotylivka, where Ukraine's state border with the Belgorod region lies.

“Given that the 155th Marine Brigade of the Russian Federation has already renewed its composition at least twice due to record losses, crimes are committed by simple “vanyushas” who were civilians yesterday and are now mobilized,” DeepState wrote.

Ombudsman's response

Dmytro Lubinets said he immediately appealed to international organizations.

“I appealed to the UN and the ICRC regarding another act of violation of international humanitarian law by the Russian side. I also note that the enemy uses such videos to intimidate and demoralize Ukrainians. However, this only confirms our desire to bring everyone who commits such inhuman atrocities to inevitable responsibility!” wrote Dmytro Lubinets.

It is known who could have given the criminal order

Stanislav “Osman” Buniatov, a Ukrainian soldier from the Aidar battalion, shared information that he knows the call sign of the person involved in the crime.

“The 155th Brigade is a very rotten brigade, whose commanders are ready to give out call signs, names, contacts and addresses of your relatives for $1300. Now we know the call sign of the bastard who ordered to cut off the heads of our wounded soldiers and put them on spikes. This is Pushkar,” Osman wrote.
