Over 36,000 residents evacuated from Sumy region, including 6,469 children
As of October 13, 36,804 Ukrainians, including 6,469 children, have been evacuated from Sumy region, which borders Russia. The mandatory evacuation of minors continues
The Sumy Regional Military Administration reported this.
The report says that over the past week, 535 Ukrainians, including 143 children, have been evacuated from the region's border communities.
‘According to the Department of Civil Protection of the Sumy Regional State Administration, as of now, 36,804 people have been evacuated, including 6,469 children,’ the regional administration said.
It is emphasised that all residents have been evacuated from 34 settlements within and outside the 5-km border zone.
At the same time, the evacuation of 189 settlements in 17 territorial communities of Sumy region and the compulsory evacuation of children from 28 settlements of the Seredyna-Buda community of Shostka district (except for the town of Seredyna-Buda) and 24 settlements of the Velykopysarivska settlement territorial community continue.
