Largest oil mill suspends operations in western Ukraine due to Russian drone attack

"Recently, Kernel, the largest oil extraction plant located in western Ukraine, suffered from a massive drone attack by Russia. Operations at the facility have been suspended and the fire caused by the shelling has been extinguished," the statement says.
The company notes that there were no casualties. The company is currently assessing the extent of the damage and related losses.
The Kernel oil extraction plant is located in Starokonstiantyniv, Khmelnytskyi region. The plant was launched in 2019. It was the company's eighth oil extraction plant and the first in western Ukraine. At the beginning of 2022, the final stage of the project - commissioning - was 3-4 months away. However, due to the full-scale invasion, the completion date was postponed. The company planned to launch the plant at full capacity this summer. The plant in Starokostiantyniv is one of the largest oil extraction plants in Europe. The company announced that its annual capacity would be 1 million tons of sunflower seeds.
