Whether Russian army can land in Ukraine's rear: analysis by Information Resistance
Oleksandr Kovalenko, a military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, believes that the landing of Russian troops in the Ukrainian rear would look like suicide
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"Recalling the events in the Kyiv region two years ago, when more than 30 airborne operations were conducted on the territory of Ukraine by the so-called Russian airborne troops, and only one was successful - in Hostomel. Now the Russians are creating new air assault units. But what's the point of them if almost every Ukrainian mobile group or unit is now equipped with man-portable air defense systems? The contact line is covered by the appropriate air defense echelon," Kovalenko emphasized.
According to the military and political observer of the Information Resistance group, a Russian landing in Ukraine's rear would look like a suicide mission.
"If we look at the threat to the Kharkiv region, Kharkiv is a city of one million people. What kind of landing operation would it take to capture or surround the city? It would be very easy to turn such an airborne operation into a massive Russian helicopter crash," Kovalenko added.
