If at least one Russian battalion goes to side fighting against Putin, it could trigger chain reaction - Ukrainian major
Reserve Major of the National Guard of Ukraine, veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war Oleksiy Hetman believes that the raid by the Legion of Freedom of Russia is a challenge to Putin and his entourage
He said this on the Espreso TV channel.
"The raid by the Freedom of Russia Legion is different from the previous ones. The Russians were frightened and began to say that they had already destroyed tanks and armoured vehicles, killing more than 100 people. That is, the Russians will change their propaganda rhetoric because such reports have confirmed that this is a powerful military group that has military equipment and can control settlements. Today, one of the volunteers made a statement saying that they were going to liberate their own land. That in this way they came to vote and help the Russians to choose who they want and not to be afraid," said Hetman.
According to the National Guard of Ukraine's reserve major, the raid by the Freedom of Russia Legion is a challenge for Putin and his entourage.
"This is a very serious raid with political and emotional implications. Now this information will gain momentum. Many regular army soldiers who are on the contact line will hear about it. There is hazing there, and commanders do not respect their subordinates. And many may wonder whether it is not worth continuing the fighting, but in a different way, to fight against the Putin regime. If it happens that a single unit at the battalion level of the Russian army goes over to the side of these Russian legionnaires, then a chain reaction may occur throughout the Russian army," suggested Hetman.
- On the morning of March 12, members of the Freedom of Russia Legion from the Russian-Ukrainian border announced that they were going to liberate Russia from dictator Vladimir Putin. Soldiers of the Siberian Battalion reported fierce fighting on the territory of the Russian Federation, and the Freedom of Russia claimed to have taken control of the village of Tiotkino in the Kursk region.
