Loss of Ivanovets missile corvette is another nail in Russian Black Sea Fleet’s capabilities
Defense Express expert Valerii Riabykh says that Russia has up to a dozen missile boats, several of which are part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet
He said this on Espreso TV.
"Today, February 1, we have a holiday organized by Ukrainian forces. The operation carried out by the Defense Intelligence was very revealing and led to the destruction of the Ivanovets missile boat. It was a large missile boat or small corvette of the 1241 project, which had several functions. It can be used as either a small anti-submarine ship, a large missile boat, or a border guard ship," the military expert said.
According to him, the sinking of this boat is another nail in the coffin of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's ability to operate illegally in the temporarily occupied Ukrainian waters.
"Russia has up to a dozen such ships, but they are scattered in different seas. Several vessels are part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, but with each strike, their number is decreasing," summarized Valerii Riabykh.
- On the night of January 31-February 1, soldiers with the Ukrainian Defense Intelligence’s Group 13 special unit destroyed the missile corvette Ivanovets of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.
