NATO works on long-term financial support for Ukraine — Stoltenberg
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has said that the Alliance is developing plans for financial commitments to help Ukraine
He said this at a joint press conference with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Ukrinform reports.
"We are creating long-term plans for financial commitments (to Ukraine)," Stoltenberg said.
According to him, NATO seeks to create approaches that will make assistance to Ukraine "more predictable and even more stable."
"Germany will supply additional Patriot systems. We expect that the ministerial meeting will soon bring concrete results," the NATO Secretary General said.
He also noted that the United Kingdom has adopted a large aid package for Ukraine, which demonstrates London's significant role in supporting Ukraine. Stoltenberg also added that the United States has also decided on a new military aid package for Kyiv, and NATO defense ministers have agreed to further action in the area of air defense assistance to Ukraine.
"Security is not a regional issue, it is a global issue. We must act together with partners who share our values to ensure transatlantic security," Stoltenberg stressed.
- On April 17, Stoltenberg said that NATO member states have enough air defense systems to "enable them to supply much more to Ukraine".
