Battle in Chasiv Yar: Russian troops did not enter town, says Ukrainian serviceman Sazonov
Kyrylo Sazonov, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and political analyst, highlighted the challenging operational situation in Chasiv Yar. Rifle battles took place, but Russians did not enter the city
He stated it on Espreso TV.
"Despite two weeks of intense efforts, the Russians did not breach Chasiv Yar. They focused their pressure on the Kanal neighborhood, closest to Bakhmut, attempting to encircle the city from two sides. While roads are under fire and the situation remains tough, the city remains under our control. Despite close encounters and skirmishes, the enemy never managed to infiltrate the city," Sazonov said.
According to Sazonov, the operational situation in Chasiv Yar is very difficult.
"The operational circumstances are very challenging. The enemy holds a significant advantage in ammunition and artillery shells. Enemy aircraft are actively engaged, launching anti-aircraft missiles at the city. Barrel artillery and cluster munitions are causing widespread destruction, damaging numerous houses and streets," Sazonov added.
- Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk regional military administration, reported that 679 residents in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, are refusing evacuation despite the perilous conditions.
