1,900 children remain in Pokrovsk as of August 28 - journalist Sobolenko
Alyona Sobolenko, a journalist of the Pokrovsk television station KAPRI, noted that the number of people in Pokrovsk has decreased, as a few days ago there were 50,000 residents in the city, and as of August 28, there were 38,000.
She told about this on Espreso TV.
‘In Myrnohrad, as of the evening of August 28, there were 6,500 local residents and 35 children who are still in the community. As for Pokrovsk, there are 38,000 people and 1,900 children. In Pokrovsk, as well as in Myrnohrad, the forced evacuation of children continues. The population is constantly being informed that they need to evacuate, and special evacuation teams are working, including police, local authorities and rescuers. If we talk about the situation in Pokrovsk in general, it is true that all banks will be closed starting from September 2,’ the journalist commented.
According to her, they say that ATMs will remain open in Pokrovsk, but there are financial institutions that have already closed their ATMs in the city.
‘Some shops and markets are still open. The number of people in the city has decreased significantly, because a few days ago it was said that there were 50,000 residents in the city, and now there are 38,000. An evacuation train runs daily, and charity organizations are also taking out local residents by bus. The evacuation is ongoing. The situation is very tense,’ summarized Alyona Sobolenko.
