Russia intends to take Ukrainian children living in temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk region to Karelia

The information was reported by the National Resistance Center.

"This week, the Chairman of the Assembly of the Republic of Karelia, Elissan Shandarovich, met with the head of the so-called people's council on the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk region, Denis Miroshnichenko. One of the key issues was sending children from the occupied Luhansk region to the "beautiful resorts" of Karelia for "rest" and "rehabilitation". Given the way Russians "rest" in polar latitudes, this does not contribute to health improvement," the NRC said.

The Center explains that such trips of the leaders of different Russian regions with the intention of "bargaining" a certain number of children for "rest" have both a purely practical purpose - writing off budget funds for these activities, and a more eerie one - more and more evidence of abductions of minors and human trafficking are appearing.

"The National Resistance Center calls on residents of the occupied territories not to send their children on any trips organized by the occupation administrations," the statement said.
