Russia spreads fake that Bulgaria refuses to provide Ukraine with weapons
Russian propagandists claim that Bulgaria refused to provide Ukraine with weapons
This was reported by the Centre for Strategic Communications and Information Security.
The Centre emphasises that the information disseminated by Russian propaganda resources is fake.
"Bulgarian President Radev did state that "this conflict has no military solution". But his opinion is not decisive, Bulgaria is a parliamentary republic, so the parliament has the last word," the statement said.
Back in December 2022, the Bulgarian parliament voted to provide military support to Ukraine. And in early July, Defence Minister Todor Tagarev said he had ordered an analysis of the types and quantities of ammunition and equipment that could be transferred to Ukraine immediately.

On Thursday, July 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Bulgaria for a visit. During his visit, the parties signed a declaration of support for Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration and cooperation in the energy sector. The Bulgarian parliament also voted in favour of Ukraine's membership in NATO and support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
