Russia promotes scenario of Ukraine’s giving up Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea in exchange for war end – Danilov
On both international platforms and within Ukraine, the Kremlin is promoting the idea of Kyiv giving up the territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, and Crimea in exchange for ending the war
This was announced by the Secretary of the National Security Council Oleksiy Danilov.
"Internal destabilization in Ukraine is the only salvation for Russia from military defeat and the collapse of Putin's regime. For this, a poisonous virus must be introduced into the Kremlin's blood system – the idea of the possibility of a compromise. All that is needed is Ukraine's consent to give up the territories of Donetsk, Luhansk regions and Crimea in exchange to the war's end," Danilov wrote in his column.
"The work under this scenario is carried out on a large scale and in different directions. In its plans, the Kremlin is counting on the fatigue of Ukrainians, the exhaustion of allies and partners, the elections in the USA and Europe, the economic crisis and the need for Russian resources," Danilov added.
He emphasized that the Kremlin will seek a social split in Ukraine based on indignation and discontent. Danilov predicts the emergence of so-called leaders of public opinion, who will convince that Ukraine does not need Donbas and Crimea, because the vatniks (unintelligent, steadfast followers of Russian propaganda – ed.) are exactly there. According to the Secretary of the National Security Council, these are very dangerous ideas.
"Compromise and concessions are the path to defeat and loss of statehood," Danilov pointed out.
