Russia loses 1,000 soldiers, 7 tanks, 26 artillery systems in one day of war in Ukraine — General Staff

The Ukrainian Armed Forces' General Staff shared their regular report, as below.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to December 5, 2023, amounted to:

• personnel - about  333,840 (+1,030 per day)
• tanks - 5,587 (+7)
• armored fighting vehicles - 10,416 (+15)
• artillery systems - 7,987 (+26)
• MLRS - 913
• air defense systems - 605 (+3)
• aircraft - 323 
• helicopters - 324 
• UAV operational-tactical level - 6,032 (+15)
• cruise missiles - 1,570 (+1)
• ships/boats - 22 
• submarines - 1 
• vehicles and tank trucks - 10,483 (+32)
• special equipment - 1,148 (+7)

Frontline update: 73 combat clashes take place in a day, Ukrainian Armed Forces repel most Russian attacks in 2 direction in the Donetsk region

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces shared the information in its morning report.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly.

In the northeastern border area, Russian forces maintain a grouping of troops covering the state border, conducting active sabotage activities in the border areas to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 10 attacks near Synkivka and Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 11 attacks near 2 settlements in the Luhansk region, and 1 in the Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 11 attacks near Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian defense forces continue their assault operations south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on Russian troops, and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the enemy, who keeps trying to surround Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the Russian army. The defense forces successfully repelled 18 attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and Sieverne in the Donetsk region.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back Russian troops near Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region, where Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Russian troops did not conduct assault operations.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Russian troops unsuccessfully tried 3 times to restore their lost position near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Melitopol direction, The Ukrainian Defence Forces are conducting an offensive operation, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying forces, consolidating their positions and exhausting Russian troops.

In the Kherson direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, continue to conduct counter-battery combat and inflict fire on the enemy's rear.

Russia attacks Ukraine with missiles and Shaheds, Ukrainian Armed Forces strike 13 concentrations of Russian troops

In total, Russia launched 8 missile strikes and 68 air strikes, and 87 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Yesterday, Russian occupying troops launched an air strike against Ukraine, using 2 Kh-59 guided missiles and 22 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. The Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 14 drones and 1 Kh-59 guided missile.

Also, at the beginning of the day, Russian troops again launched an air strike against Ukraine, using Shahed-136/131 UAVs. The consequences of the attack are being clarified.

Russian troops launched air strikes on 17 settlements across Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.

Over 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation conducted 10 strikes on concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 on anti-aircraft missile systems.

Ukrainian missile troops struck 3 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment, 2 anti-aircraft missile systems and 7 artillery systems.

• Meanwhile, on the night of Monday, December 4, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones and a guided missile. The Ukrainian Air Force downed the Russian missile and 18 UAVs.
