Ukrainians do not have resources to stop Russian offensive in Donbas: foreign fakes on September 12
The Centre for Countering Disinformation has published a selection of anti-Ukrainian fakes and manipulations issued by the world media on September 12
According to the Centre for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, two disinformation stories were spread in the world on September 12.
Disinformation: German-Finnish blogger Kim Dotcom wrote in X: ‘It has been 10 years since the US couped the democratically elected Ukrainian government. It is clear: 97% of Crimea voted to join Russia The EU is complicit in a deliberate and provoked US proxy war against Russia.’
Refutation: Dotcom is once again using the pro-Russian narrative of a ‘proxy war of the West against Russia’ to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of a foreign audience. However, it was Russia that launched the aggression against Ukraine by annexing Crimea in 2014 and unleashing military operations in Donbas, and it is fully responsible for all of its crimes.
Disinformation: Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said in an interview on the Danny Haiphong YouTube channel: ‘The Ukrainians don't have the resources to stop the Russian offensive in Donbas, and sooner or later the Ukrainians will break down there, and you know we're going to have to go through a shameful retreat beyond the Dnipro. So, this is a PR move by Ukraine to convince more European countries to look deeper into their coffers and pull out more money and military equipment to rebuild the Ukrainian army.’
Refutation: Ritter's rhetoric is nothing more than a retranslation of Russian propaganda narratives aimed at discrediting the Ukrainian Defense Forces. However, despite the difficult conditions, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are effectively performing combat missions at the front, in particular, thanks to the constant support of international partners.
- Earlier, American journalist Fiorella Isabel said that Ukraine is killing women and children because it is losing.
