Russia claims 70 'terrorists' killed, rest pushed back into Ukraine. Russian Volunteer Corps report no losses

Counter-terrorism operation in the Belgorod region is over. Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that 70 'terrorists' were allegedly killed, and the rest were pushed back to Ukraine. For its part, the Russian Volunteer Corps claims to have no losses

The refutation is published by the Volunteer Corps on Telegram.

It also notes that the photos of the killed 'saboteurs' are fake.

“We don't know which convoys of vehicles Konashenkov destroyed in his reports, but the Russian Volunteer Corps has no losses. As for the photos of the killed 'saboteurs' that are circulating online, our fighters wear Multicam uniforms, not pixels. Take note,” the statement says.

Earlier, Russia's Defense Ministry reported that a 'nationalist formation' was allegedly blocked and defeated during a counter-terrorism operation in the Belgorod region. The Russian ministry also noted that more than 70 'terrorists', 4 armored personnel carriers, as well as 5 pickup trucks were destroyed. The rest of the 'nationalists' were pushed back to Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian Volunteer Corps published videos from the Belgorod region.

“The situation on a small, but already our own, piece of the Motherland is still alarming, and it will not hurt to clean up. We took brooms with us, but there are still enough trowels in Russia,” they wrote.

In addition, the Freedom of Russia Legion said it had destroyed a motorized rifle company of the Russian Armed Forces.

“We have not yet summarized the results of the day together with the Russian Volunteer Corps, but we can say that today we made a splash among Putin's horde: we 'demilitarized' a motorized rifle company of the Russian Armed Forces, destroying several units of their armored vehicles,” the statement says.

Earlier, Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the completion of the counter-terrorism operation in the region.

“It was decided to cancel the legal regime of the counter-terrorism operation in the Belgorod region,” he wrote.

  • On May 22, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps announced that they had liberated the settlements of Kozinka and Gora-Podol in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation as part of the creation of a demilitarized zone on the border with Russia, and that advanced units had entered Graivoron. A counterterrorism operation was introduced in the region and nuclear munitions are being evacuated.

  • Late in the evening of May 22, Russian media reported that administrative buildings in Belgorod had been hit by drones, including the FSB and the Interior Ministry, and that drones had also been reported to have hit administrative buildings in Graivoron and Borisovka.

  • A representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, noted that the events in the Belgorod region are an 'internal conflict of the Russian Federation' and the Russians' struggle against Putin's internal occupation

  • On the morning of May 23, the governor of the Belgorod region of Russia, Gladkov, said that residents of the Graivoron district should not return home yet. Peskov is 'deeply concerned'
