Events in Belgorod region are Russia's internal conflict – Ukraine’s intelligence

“First of all, everything that happens on the territory of the so-called Russian Federation is an internal conflict. And the structures that have taken responsibility for today's events - the Russian Volunteer Corps, the Freedom of Russia Legion - actually consist of Russian citizens. And today these Russian citizens have returned home,” Yusov said.

The intelligence representative notes that the Legion was welcomed and supported by the residents of these territories, as people with weapons in their hands are ready to fight the Putin regime.

“Putin's dictatorial regime will simply not leave them any other legal instruments of struggle through the courts, peaceful protests. And yes, these are definitely direct consequences of the full-scale aggression, war and invasion of the Putin regime, Putin's Russia in Ukraine,” he said.

Yusov emphasized that the protest movement is gaining momentum in the Belgorod region and other lands and territories of the Russian Federation.

• On May 22, the Freedom of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps announced that they had liberated the settlements of Kozinka and Gora-Podol in the Belgorod region of Russia as part of the creation of a demilitarized zone on the border with Russia, and that advanced units had entered Graivoron. A counterterrorism operation was introduced in the region and nuclear munitions are being evacuated.
