Petro Poroshenko, ex-President of Ukraine, has stated live on Sky News that neither Putin nor Russia will ever dictate to Ukraine what its future will look like.

The interview was posted on the former president’s YouTube channel on Sunday, November 27, 2022.

When asked whether Ukraine is ready for negotiations with Putin if he changes his demands, Poroshenko said:

"It is not Putin who makes the decision who will be the president, the leader, the government in Ukraine. We do not give them [Russia] any veto right on any future decision, including the NATO membership for Ukraine. And we demonstrate unity for the internal politicy."

“We have already negotiated, and this negotiation with Russia is very successful. And the name of this negotiator is the Armed Forces of Ukraine who has successfully liberated Kyiv region, Kherson region, Kharkiv region, and many, many other states. We definitely will continue this line.” Poroshenko said.

"Russia uses winter season as a weapon, as well as oil, gas, hunger, and it attacks the civilian population of Ukraine. Among the 70 cruise missiles Russia had launched, 30 were aimed at Kyiv, 21 were eliminated by our air defense, but 9 hit energy infrastructure facilities. And this is proof that Russia is a terrorist state, as the European Parliament declared. Russia acts as a terrorist against the civilian population," Poroshenko states.

"We have no power supply, no heating, no water. But in no case will we exchange Ukrainian freedom, democracy, sovereignty for electricity, oil, gas, heat. We have united, we have become even more determined and we will definitely defeat Russia. Russia, which is losing to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front lines, is trying to attack peaceful Ukrainians. But to no avail," Poroshenko believes.

He also called on Western partners to provide Ukraine with power equipment and air defense equipment.

"We definitely count on global support. And we need not only generators - we need, first of all, air defense systems along with generators and other spare parts for critical energy infrastructure facilities. Russia must know that all Russian cruise missiles, every Russian attack drone, which attacks civilian infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, Odesa, Kherson, will definitely be shot down, and we can do it," Poroshenko underlined.
