Putin wants to exchange temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine for Crimea - military expert Svitan
Military expert Roman Svitan believes that Putin will trade the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine in order to preserve the annexed Crimean peninsula
He expressed this opinion on the air of the Espreso TV channel.
"Back in the summer, it was clear that the Russians were not going to spend the winter on the right bank of the Dnipro and in the land corridor to Crimea. There are certain actions that the occupation authorities and their administrations are taking to prepare for winter. Their actions show that they are not going to stay for the winter in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and already Luhansk and Donetsk regions. That's why it was already clear in the summer that Russian troops would go from the right bank of the Dnipro and from the land corridor to Crimea," explained Svitan.
The expert is convinced that Russian troops will leave the territory of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions
"There is a certain task for Putin to exchange the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions for Crimea and Donbas. Or to exchange the entire occupied territory of mainland Ukraine for Crimea. Therefore, soon, quite likely, the Russian occupiers will leave Kherson Region and Zaporizhzhia," he added.
