The former Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko, who is on a working trip to Europe, has announced the conclusion of a long-term contract for operational-level drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The European Solidarity party shared the news on its website.

"What we started in the Vinnytsia region, when we presented a completely new, modern, protected, far-sighted unmanned aerial vehicle of operational level - we are now continuing this extremely ambitious and important program," Poroshenko said.

"We made sure that these "birds" are extremely cool, fly very high, and it is very difficult for the Russians to reach them with anything. If they use a Buk or Tor missile, then the missile itself is much more expensive than the bird," he noted.

"We are buying the entire batch of these drones, which should become the eyes of our artillery, so that every strike on the enemy is as effective as possible. For obvious reasons, we do not name the manufacturers and do not say where they work. But these are real patriots of Ukraine, real professionals. They have been working in Ukraine since 2014 and have a lot of experience. Today, Western technologies, Western production models, Western licenses are combined with the deep professionalism and patriotism of Ukrainians," Petro Poroshenko explains.

"I know from my own experience that this is not even a brigade level. And commanders, when you offer them the entire range of products, always 100% choose these operational reconnaissance devices. Because they are the "eyes" of the artillery. That's why it's the "Eyes of Artillery" and not Poseidon, this project of ours will be called. The copyright owners also agreed to this," Poroshenko noted.

"We will collect funds together in order to provide the Armed Forces at an unprecedented price in the shortest possible time," he says.

As you know, earlier the Poroshenko Foundation and volunteers of the NGO Sprava Hromad purchased the H10 Poseidon Mk II UAV complex for the Airborne Assault Forces.  As well as 350 Autel drones, 11 Italian MLS SHIELD armored vehicles, pickups and trucks for units of the Armed Forces. The equipment has already arrived at the front brigades.

The Poroshenko Foundation doubles the amount of funds collected by volunteers.

Since February 24, Poroshenko's structures have directed more than half a billion hryvnias to support the Armed Forces. With these funds, thousands of body armor and Kevlar helmets, weapons, hundreds of vehicles for the needs of the front, including armored cars, trucks and pickups, thermal imaging cameras, hundreds of drones, electric generators, digital radio stations, starlinks, military clothing, turnstiles, NATO first-aid kits, water purification systems were purchased, means for the construction of fortifications, fuel, food products.
