People around Putin want him dead, but they are unable to eliminate him themselves - Feygin

Russian opposition politician Mark Feygin believes that the Russian high military command is not ready to eliminate Putin to stop the war

He expressed this opinion on the air of the Espreso TV channel.

"The generals of the Russian army are the same war criminals, we do not make innocent lambs out of them. But they are about something else. They certainly understood what was going on even at the beginning of the 'special operation'. At least Gerasimov knew perfectly well the state of his own Russian army and understood the result of the military support of Ukraine, its Armed Forces from the West in this war. And therefore this dissatisfaction is caused by the fact that they do not want to lose. Because the defeat will remain forever: if you lose to Ukraine - then you are simply no soldiers. Second -  to lose the army, that is, their business. This is a business for them, a big, gigantic, multibillion-dollar business. Look at the latest investigation about Surovikin, about Shoigu - they are all billionaires. Gigantic, some crazy money that not even a single Soviet general dreamed of. Therefore, certainly their dissatisfaction is caused by the fact that they have been put in a situation of war, where the question is not - to earn or not to earn, but to live or die, to live or to be in prison. For what?  They lived so well," Feygin explained

The politician noted that the elite of the Russian army is not ready to eliminate Putin

"Of course, it would be more comfortable for them if there was no war and it would be possible to solve these problems by gradually leaving the sanctions regime. Therefore, a certain consensus has definitely formed in this environment. The problem lies in the fact that even after renunciation and dissatisfaction, about which public information periodically breaks through, they are not ready to take any actions. They want everything to collapse by itself, for Putin to die, or to be killed, or to be choked with mushrooms, but God forbid they should subject themselves, make any decisions. Same happened to Khrushchev when Semychastny called him and said: that is it, bye, we are holding a plenum of the Central Committee (at which he was dismissed from the position of first secretary of the party). So I think that they most likely need some kind of impetus. For someone to commit public self-destruction by declaring  Putin has a "burn notice". Yes, such a person has a fate that you cannot envy, maybe, but they will pick it up," he added.
