And the main question that still remains unanswered is whether the documents are genuine or not. There will be no short answer to this question, because everything is much more complicated.

From that I can see so far, the situation unfolded as follows. At first, the documents were indeed leaked, but not hyped. Then the same documents were already circulated, but with Russian edits.

Is there reliable information in the documents? Yes. Is there false information? Yes. Most of the true information in these documents is available from open sources. And most of the false information is difficult to check, but it can be understood by the task it was intended to accomplish. So, for example, information about the capabilities of American intelligence should scare the Russians with the extent of their penetration into their structures. Whereas information about losses should scare Ukrainian society that it is being lied to.

Under any circumstances, these documents cannot do us much harm. Especially if they were leaked. If the Russians trusted these documents, they would not have leaked them and spread them, but would have waited for Ukraine to confirm their authenticity by certain actions.
