Peculiarities of Russian “sclerosis”

Moscow strategists are trying to anticipate Putin’s every word to be the first to react to his every, even the most ridiculous, reflection

When Dmitry Peskov says out of nowhere that Moscow does not seek to overthrow the legitimate Ukrainian president, I begin to worry about the fate of this Kremlin worthlessness. How could he publicly deny the main goals of the "special operation", voiced personally by Putin, and repeated a hundred times out of all possible propaganda machines?

But no, don't worry. This is a typical Russian sclerosis, or rather its careful simulation, which implies calling black what has been called white just yesterday with no shame. Forgetting the age-old wisdom that "liars must have a good memory", at least they should be prepared for the fact that someone else has a better memory.

“This is a typical case of Russian sclerosis, or rather its careful simulation, which implies calling black what was called white just yesterday with no shame.”

And Peskov will face no consequences for his statement. Lying is a part of his official duties, and therefore he can count on even a modest bonus. Especially if you sum up all his dubious statements of recent times, for example, about the erratic coercion of Ukraine to negotiations through civilian shelling. This was an actual recognition of terrorism, and, perhaps, it became the last straw for NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which recently recognized the Russian Federation as a terrorist state.

I have already lost count, recording cases of sudden changes in the "goals of Putin's special operation" in Ukraine, and I come to a logical, in my opinion, conclusion: there were no such goals. Yes, Putin has been preparing for years, if not decades, for the suppression of Kyiv. Yes, astronomical sums were spent on this preparation. But the main thing - strategies and goals - Moscow strategists and analysts did not manage to determine. For one simple reason: they were all anticipating Putin’s every word, trying to be the first to react to his every, even ridiculous, reflection.

Recently, in the incredible euphoria of the appointment of the "Syrian veteran" Surovikin as the commander of the "special operation in Ukraine", Russian propagandists painstakingly fabricated a fake about the "heroic origin" of this Putin servant. They claimed his father was a "legendary ace" of the Korean War, who single-handedly destroyed 3 American fighter jets. The lie was really fantastic, because according to it the "son" was born 5 months after the death of the "father" - a real character.

“Moscow strategists and analysts did not manage to determine the strategies and goals of the special operation. For one simple reason: they were all anticipating Putin’s every word, trying to be the first to react to his every, even ridiculous, reflection.”

These are symptoms of hoax artists’ orientation towards the domestic Russian fool - an omnivorous, infantile individual who believes in various myths, and especially - conspiratorial versions of Russia's failures. But there is also a foreign policy dimension of the Kremlin's lies, more serious both in terms of results and conclusions.

Putin's Turkish "partner" in the "grain deal", President Erdogan, was extremely irritated by the "disgraceful" behavior of his "ally" in Syria (from which Putin is taking general staff for the failed war in Ukraine). It turned out that 3 years ago, in 2019, Russia undertook to "clear" certain regions of Syria from "Kurdish terrorists". "Unfortunately, despite repeated reminders from the Turkish side, these pledges have not been honored. They do not honor them, they cannot honor them. In response, we declare that in case of non-fulfillment of the agreements, we ourselves will take the necessary steps against the terrorists," Erdogan said. And yes, he took the "necessary steps": the Claw Sword special operation in Raqqa, al-Hasakah and Aleppo.

And what about it?  Moscow simply "changed its goals" in Syria...

Thus, the Kremlin's lies not only destroy the last ones willing to cooperate with Putin's dictatorship, but also stability in entire regions.

Despite the peculiarities of "Russian sclerosis", its clinical course is typical. As well as the consequence - disaster and shame. For sure, strategists and analysts, who are still fussing about determining the goals of Russia in the "special operation" against Ukraine, will lose their own country. Some of them will also be held responsible for war crimes along with the dictator they tried to please.
