Operational Command South appeals for media silence regarding Kinburn spit
Nataliya Humenyuk, head of the press center of the Operational Command South, told Espreso TV that an AFU operation on the Kinburn spit is ongoing.
"The most important thing is that the operation is underway and we continue to fight the enemy. We must be aware that premature reports about the liberation or elimination of the enemy there can significantly harm Mykolaiv, which has been given a little break recently due to the de-occupation of large areas near the region and AFU pushing the enemy away to a great distance. But this distance can become critical and bring shellings back," Humenyuk said.
The spokeswoman has also added that there is a storm at the Black Sea and it does not allow Russian troops to gain a foothold on the Kinburn spit.
"The sea helps us. The enemy cannot gain a foothold there because the Armed Forces shell the enemy's bases. There is no space on the spit for Russian troops to set up many buildings to gain a foothold and hold defence. Only the storm should be making noise now, everyone else should keep informational silence. We should not forget that the Kinburn spit is adjacent to the temporarily occupied part of the left bank of the Kherson region, which allows the enemy to reinforce," Humenyuk emphasized.
