Brazilian President says Zelenskyy can't have it all, so he should give Putin Crimea and go back to living a normal life and not bother him with a distant war

Zelenskyy really cannot want everything. He can't want to annex the beaches of Copacabana to Ukraine or claim the rights to the Amazonian jungle, he can't want to shoot Brazilian TV series in the steppes of Kherson region or declare Neymar to play for the Ukrainian national team. This would be inappropriate on Zelenskyy's part. Although the Ukrainian community would not be opposed. At least to the beaches and Neymar.

But the issue of Crimea is not a matter of Zelenskyy's will or unwillingness. It is a matter of law. Because Russia illegally seized Crimea. And then went further. And to allow Putin to keep Crimea is to encourage other countries to do the same in the future.

And of course, Brazilian President Lula has always had problems with the law. He was even convicted of corruption and sent to prison. He was released from prison and became president again. Just like Yanukovych. And it's clear why Ukrainians have always liked Brazilian TV series so much. At least in the days when Ukrainians voted for Yanukovych and Co. There is something in common there.

So it's understandable why the Brazilian president says this. He has always had problems with laws and the rule of law. And it has always been more pleasant to make decisions with Putin within the BRICS. But, frankly, no one is interested in his opinion. He does not want to help Ukraine with weapons. Good, we will remember that. But he can't help Putin much either, because he's afraid of secondary US sanctions.

But in the future, when Brazilian football players come to play in Ukraine again, it seems they will be asked not to tell how they dreamed of playing for Kolos team from Kovalivka since childhood, but to answer the question "To whom does Crimea belong?"

Oh, the offended global South...
