Number of children killed by Russian military in Ukraine rises to 470
At least 470 children were killed and more than 948 injured as a result of Russia's armed aggression in Ukraine
Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General reported the information.
"As of the morning of April 17, 2023, more than 1,418 children have been injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 470 children were killed and more than 948 suffered injuries of varying severity," the office writes.
These data are not final, as work is underway to establish information in the areas of hostilities, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
Yesterday, on April 16, a 17-year-old boy died as a result of shelling by the Russian army in Bashtanka district, Mykolaiv region.
Most children were injured in Donetsk region (451), Kharkiv region (275), Kyiv region (127), Kherson region (94), as well as in Zaporizhzhia region (89), Mykolaiv region (86), Chernihiv region (68), Luhansk region (66) and Dnipropetrovsk region (66).

On the night of April 16, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Zaporizhzhya region. In Komyshuvakha, a local church was damaged, and no services were held there, while nearby buildings were also damaged. In the Mykolaiv region, two teenagers were killed in the attacks.
