On the night of June 22, air raid alarm was announced in most regions of Ukraine due to a missile and Shahed UAV attack. In the Odesa region, air defense shot down enemy targets, but there were hits. In the Kryvyi Rih district, 10 houses were damaged, and there was disruption to the gas pipeline, water supply, and power lines
Ukraine's Air Force reported the information.
Russian troops tried to attack critical infrastructure at night.
"On the night of June 22, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine from the air with Kh-22, Kh-47 Kinzhal missiles and Shahed-136/131 drones. The enemy launched 3 Kh-22 cruise missiles from Tu-22m3 bombers from the Sea of Azov, and 3 Kh-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles from MiG-31K," the military wrote.
Ukrainian defenders destroyed 3 Shahed drones out of 4 launched.
"Fortunately, the enemy missiles did not reach their targets in the Dnipropetrovsk region. However, the occupiers continue to wage terror against the Ukrainian people, attacking critical infrastructure facilities in Ukraine," the press service added.
Earlier, Natalia Humeniuk, head of the joint coordination center of Ukraine’s South Defense Forces, shared the information on the United News telethon.
According to her, Russia is trying to use new tactics, looking for ways to bypass Ukrainian air defense.
"The enemy is trying to attack where it hurts. If there are problems with water supply in the Kryvyi Rih direction, they are trying to attack there," added the spokesperson.
Odesa region
"Three Shahed UAVs were shot down in the Odesa region. Unfortunately, there were also hits. We are assessing the situation. There are no casualties, no critical hits either. But strategic aviation operations are being conducted in the Kryvyi Rih direction," emphasized Humeniuk.
Meanwhile, Vladyslav Nazarov, spokesman for the South operational command, clarified that the region was attacked with Shahed-136 drones:
