Netherlands provides EUR 120 million military aid to Ukraine: what’s in the package
The Netherlands says it will spend EUR 45 million on T-72 tanks
This is stated on the website of the Dutch Ministry of Defense.
"This comprehensive package is an important signal to Russia. Allies are continuing to join efforts to support the Ukrainian armed forces in their fight against Russia's war of aggression," Defense Minister Kajsa Ollongren said.
The total value of the package is EUR 120 million, of which EUR 45 million are intended for T-72 tanks. Together with the U.S. and the Czech Republic, the Netherlands will deliver 90 modernized and overhauled tanks from the Czech Republic. Ukraine will receive some tanks already next month.
In his turn, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, thanked the Netherlands, the USA and the Czech Republic for their assistance to Ukraine.
"I am grateful to the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, and the U.S. for their joint decision to provide 90 T-72 tanks to Ukraine. First 26 repaired and modernized tanks will arrive within the next month. Thank you, friends, for your unwavering solidarity with Ukraine," he tweeted.
