Navalny and others will use Putin's narratives because that's what Russians want

The Russian opposition's goal is not to appeal to Ukrainians, but to take Russian votes away from Putin in the next election

It seems that not everyone understands how the Russian opposition has to work. The task of the Russian opposition is not to please Ukrainians and sing "Chervona Kalyna" (Ukrainian folk song) at the Oscars, so that we all composedly say "that's beautiful.”

The task of the Russian opposition is to take Russian votes away from Putin in the next elections or, in the best case scenario, to get the support necessary for early elections and protests.

Now consider the context - Russian society has been brainwashed by harsh propaganda for 8 years and is involved in a war they are losing. Everyone who is more or less famous and publicly supports Ukraine has to flee immediately, or flees first and then publicly supports Ukraine. And after that, they are subjected to a stream of curses and branding as a traitor. Therefore, anyone who wants to have any chance in the upcoming elections will speak within the framework of social trends, because their task is to take votes away from Putin and win. To take away so many that even falsifications would not help. This is politics.

That's why Navalny and others who want to take the throne away from Putin will use his own narratives, because that's what the people want now. He will talk about the interests of the Russians and that stopping the war is for the benefit of Russia, not Ukraine. He spoke about Crimea not being a “sandwich,” because it is also within this paradigm and framework. What should we say to the Russians who are indescribably proud over the fact that they took away Crimea? That you are distasteful jackals and Crimea must be returned immediately? And if I become president, will this be my first decision? What chances would such a politician have in Russia?)) When NATO bases in Crimea are described on TV?

“Navalny and others who want to take the throne away from Putin will use his own narratives, because that's what the people want now. Navalny's task is to take the throne away from Putin, and he has already enlisted the support of the West. Otherwise, he would have been dead long ago. Because Putin has removed even his minor critics, and here is a guy who has a theoretical chance in the election.

It doesn't matter what Navalny says about Ukrainians and what his policy toward Ukraine will be. We do not control this. We are managing the opportunities and chances of our country, and when we join NATO, we don't care who will be running Russia. I don't care if Navalny and Putin sit together later, they do have two birds on their coat of arms for a reason.) We will be a NATO member and be protected. And we manage our own security, not play the lottery of who will be there in Russia and whether they will be kind to us. If Russia had not attacked us and was not planning to attack us, no one would care who won the Oscar or what is going on in Russia.

“Russians do not like us. That is why someone who sympathizes with Ukraine will never become their president. Accept it. But maybe we should stop expecting love and sympathy from Russians. We don't need it”

Yes, Russians do not like us. That is why someone who sympathizes with Ukraine will never become their president. Accept it. But maybe we should stop expecting love and sympathy from Russians. We do not need it.
