Mythology of hate. How changeable history can be

It turns out that one dictator can change history. During his twenty years of rule, he almost completely nullified the achievements of those who quite successfully created the myth of "great Russian culture"

client/title.list_title

At first, with the help of money and power, he conquered the most intelligent and educated representatives of society. By cynically killing some, like Starovoytova, Khlebnikov, Estemirova, Politkovskaya, Litvinenko, Yushenkov, Markelov, and Baburova, or publicly, like Nemtsov, by executing them, or by torturing them, like Magnitsky, or simply by sending them to prison, like Yefremov, Navalny, and putting them behind bars, like Kara-Murza, or forcing them to leave Russia, like Berezovsky and Chichvarkin. And this is only a list of those that are generally known. And how many more victims are there of this anti-human regime?

As for the others, they were trivially bribed, either by being appointed to high positions in the executive power, or by deputy mandates, or by the positions of artists in the most popular theaters, or by budget money for creative projects or patriotic tours, or even by financial support of their charitable intentions.

Then, those who remained were discredited.

And later, the so-called "great nation" was transformed into a global "telezombie", where everyone can unanimously and confidently convince even their loved ones that they can see white in the blackest square, and vice versa.

Orwell's world appeared in all its terrible manifestation through the efforts of the collective Putin. The imaginary world of "1984" became apparent in 2022.

“The attitude of Western civilization towards Putin's Russia has quite rapidly overcome the path from inexplicably surprised to frankly contemptuous. And if yesterday there was still fear, today there is undisguised disgust and disregard almost everywhere”

And it turned out that Russian culture, together with literature, despite all its declared principles, is powerless against the newly appeared Antichrist, who forced even the church to serve as a chanter of a harsh, bloody and, at the same time, incredibly senseless war.

A war that rewrites history every day, in the process of which yesterday's subjects of literary research turn into objects for blacklists before our eyes.

The attitude of Western civilization towards Putin's Russia has rapidly gone from inexplicably surprised to frankly contemptuous. And if yesterday there was still fear, today there is undisguised disgust and disregard almost everywhere.

Yes, there are still those who remained "Putinists", they hid, plunged into silence, only once in a while expressing their support.

This is the effect of waiting, of trying to convince oneself that “Putin will beat everyone again after all.” But they will be the first to repent as soon as the figure of their "newly appeared idol" recedes into history.

“Having become the foundation for the "Russian World", Russian culture and literature brought a black mark on itself. After all, now everything that the "Russian World" carried with it is automatically associated with murders, violence, rape, rocket attacks, and bombings.”

And Russian culture and literature will face a painful path of repentance. Ukrainians all over the world will fuel the hearth of hate as soon as someone tries to separate Russian literature and culture from politics and to find another "good Russian". And this hate and hatred with contempt is not for one generation.

Yes, it would seem that Pushkin has nothing to do with the bombings of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, violence in Bucha and Izium, and extermination and mass graves of Mariupol.

But he has. Yesterday's cultural hero of the 2000s, for the brilliantly recreated roles of Sasha Bely or the same Pushkin or Yesenin, becoming a court Putin confidant, overshadowed Pushkin by quoting his message to "Slanderers of Russia" in April 2022.

Having become the foundation for the "Russian World", Russian culture and literature brought a black mark on itself. After all, now everything that the "Russian World" carried with it is automatically associated with murders, violence, rape, rocket attacks, and bombings.

Now this wave has already gained momentum.  But it can only be saved from a real tsunami by the actual elimination of Putin or his removal from power. And real peace. None of the representatives of official Kyiv will talk about peace with Putin again.

After all, after a cold winter, probably the coldest since the Second World War, and its terrible consequences, the West will also meet spring with a persistent aversion to everything that symbolizes the "Russian World".
