“My son returned, but 41 defenders of Zmiinyi Island are in captivity” - father of freed border guard 

He told about this on Espreso TV.

"My son returned on November 24, he was in captivity for exactly 9 months, before that he had been at Zmiinyi Island from the first day of the full-scale invasion. To this day, 41 defenders of Zmiinyi Island are still in captivity, and we don't even know where some people are, because about ten soldiers were separated from the main squad and transferred to another place. There were a total of 79 defenders on the Island, 38 of them returned to Ukraine, and most of the squad is still in captivity," said the father of a released border guard.

Ruslan Zhuryan noted that during the 9 months of his son's captivity, the family did not have any information, but followed every exchange that took place.  And they waited for that moment when their son called and said that he was already in Ukraine and everything was fine with him.

 "From the beginning of the captivity, all the defenders were brought to Crimea, and then transported to various places, mainly in the Belgorod region. Regarding the conditions of detention of the prisoners, after talking with the released boys, we understand that it is advisable not to tell the media the details of their captivity, because any information can have a negative impact on those boys who are still in captivity," Zhuryan explained.
